About Us
C.A.T.S.
maintains a full adoption shelter. As a full adoption shelter, we accept
only adoptable animals: those to whom we can make a life-long commitment for
placement. Adoptable means there are no signs of a behavioral or
temperamental defect that could pose a health or safety risk, and no visible
signs of disease or injury. Prior to acceptance, our staff evaluates each
cat / kitten to ensure that it meets these criteria. Once the cat is
accepted, a commitment is made to keep the animal until it is placed into a
new home, as long as the animal remains adoptable. If you have any
questions, feel free to contact us by phone or e-mail,
or stop by the shelter. We hope that you enjoy your visit!
A home without a cat, and a well-fed, well-petted and
properly revered cat, may be a perfect home, perhaps;
but how can it prove its title? -Mark Twain
Our mission is to rescue the forgotten cats and
kittens. Those abandoned and left trying to make it
on their own in a world much too cruel. They battle
hunger, disease, weather, predators, of which the
scariest can be the human predator. C.A.T.S. can
provide a chance at a better life.
As a part of our goal to help this situation, no cat
leaves our shelter until it has been spayed or
neutered. All of our cats are given the special care
they deserve, including medical and behavior checks,
testing for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and
Feline Leukemia (FELV), vaccinated, treated against
parasites, given an anti-fungal bath and micro
chipped. They then stay at the shelter until
adopted. Here they have a chance to rest and become
reacquainted with loving humans. Our volunteers
spend hours with these cats until they adopted into
a loving home. In 2006, we found new, loving homes
for 637 cats and kittens!
